died in London on October 25, 1400 (Pearsall 276). He was buried in Westminster Abbey, in the part of the church, which later called the Poet's Corner. Today many scholars portrayed Chaucer as the father of English poetry for his great writing. In his poetry, Chaucer created new poetic vocabulary and meters. He created the language of poetry. His reputation has been well known as the English poet best loved after Shakespeare for his wisdom, humor, and humanity.
