A School of a Different Color It was a cold January morning, as the jet liner I was riding landed in Louisville, Kentucky. Immediately upon exiting the plane, I saw a nice young soldier holding a sign that said "Private Robert J Jones," so normally I went up to him and politely said, "I am Private Robert Jones." At graduation they played Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA," and there wasn't a dry eye in the platoon. These boys who turned into men, with only the thought of killing the enemy, were all crying at graduation. I sometimes still tear up when I hear that song. I am proud to serve in the U.S. Military; someone has to, because freedom isn't free.
