I was excited when my English instructor announced that computers would be a major part of our writing course. Teacher also said that half of the classes will be held in the computer lab and all required work will be done on the computer. I was thrilled to see the computer lab. But in writing class where they use computers, professors have less time to devote to individual help and feedback because they are too busy being a computer troubleshooter.
In conclusion, it may be wise to take another look at use of the computer in a college writing course. At first glance the computer offers excitement and a world of promise, but I think there is a serious question about whether it actually improve students writing.
