Catherine still has great respect for Eddie up until the end of the play where she cannot forgive Eddie for telling immigration about Rodolfo and Marco. All in all their relationship changes dramatically from one extreme to another and this is due to many turning and dramatic points throughout the play and ends in a dramatic finale were Eddie dies because of his hatred for Rodolfo and love for Catherine.
