Experiencing a Revolution
In George Orwell's Animal Farm the animals do indeed experience a revolution, but
not the kind most of them think. A revolution is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as,
"a substitution of a new system of government". In Animal Farm the revolution animals
face is very different then that of the original idea. The original revolution was the expectancy for the animals to be treated as equals. And it is this dream

how he lived rather than the
well being of others. Napoleon became exactly as corrupted as Mr. Jones was in the
beginning of the book and became the animals ruler, and master. The revolution they
received was a cycle or return. So the irony of this story is that they removed one
dictatorship but it was replaced by another therefore removing the reason for the animals'
fight for a revolution; therefore a cycle had occurred.
