Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 to Heinrich and Henrietta Marx in the city of Trier. Karl was one of seven children raised in a comfortable middle class home provided by his father. During his life, Marx lived in the same manner as many philosophers of his time. Marx did not start any world shattering revolution; he simply published articles and philosophical papers. It was, however, the revolutionary ideas found in those papers that would live beyond him to change the world.
