Texas History The Journey of Cabeza de Vaca Cabeza de Vaca departed Spain via the port of San Lucar de Barrameda on 27 Jun 1527. Cabezas journey was significant as well as important. His explorations and descriptions of the Indians and the Indians lifestlye, customs and foods brought awareness to the Spain of the new types of people in the world. Cabezas journey has also helped my understanding of my ancestors and how Christianity may have spread throughout the new world.
