Abstract The yeast Saccromyces cerevisae was placed in two different sets of test tubes along with glucose and MgSO4 or NaF to test the effects of the MgSO4 and NaF on yeast cellular metabolism. This dramatically changed the rank order and prevented the NaF condition from having all the first rankings. If this group were to be excluded in the analysis, T would be 7.42 instead of 4.34. The critical value is 5.99, so we would have obtained a significant difference.
