might open Montag's mind. After Clarisse explains how much she loves the rain, and the taste, Montag's first reaction is to act repulsed. But after Clarisse leaves, he decides to try her "style" and opens his mouth. "And then, very slowly, as he walked, he tilted his head back in the rain, for just a few moments, and opened his mouth" (24). This symbolizes him finally opening up to the idea of rebelling against his utopia.
