in the case of Captain Cat and Rosie Probert. This is possibly because Dylan Thomas' own marriage was not a success so he was inclined to be cynical about the likelihood of true love. Love is one of the main themes in the book however, and almost every character is heard talking or dreaming about it, so clearly Thomas thought that looking for love and being in love is an important part of people's lives.
