The child characters in the books that we have read for this course are, to me, very interesting characters, each possessing different qualities. Heathcliff's character is a complex one, and it is very hard to make sense of him at all. However, as this essay proves, we learn a lot about him from how other characters describe and comment on him; from the images he presents us with; from the language used, and from the context in which this peculiar child is seen.
