For Dickinson it is a slow, somewhat sad mood. Her I Heard a Fly buzz... was a sad mood, describing what the author heard before he/died. I suppose that the mood of a poem is much like the mood of the author.
Emily Dickinson, Walter Whitman Jr. ,both influential authors for their time. They exposed poetry in a new way, and created new styles. They are two of the greatest poets to ever live.
