In the story, men have control on women, it is really good illustrated when the husband of Elisa ask her to be more productive and also by the way that men bring money at home and that women stay there to cook. Throughout the story the author demonstrate his objections by the way men treat women, because men treat them in a materialistic way when women need love and attention.
