Romeo and Juliet, but he didn't. He gives the reader a little hope that the two lovers will survive and, but with each event, that hope is crushed. Although Romeo and Juliet did not have to kill themselves, none of the tragedies would have occurred, had this play been written by someone other then Shakespeare. Truly, fate is a dominant force in this play, and is most responsible for the fates of Romeo and Juliet.
