so many tumultuous shifts in demographics, economics, and ideologies that it was impossible to discount the call for Black equality. Our actions were not noble, for they were long overdue, nor were our leaders strong enough in preventing such horrible injustice to subsist, yet we should be thankful that as our world and country was being transformed, we were able to open our eyes and finally begin to truly be the land of the free.
