Being President of the United States of America is a very important position to have. All of the USA and a lot of other countries are greatly affected by the decisions the President makes. With that being said, this position is to valuable an asset to just hand over your trust to someone, in hopes he will do the right thing, especially when the man in question is a habitual liar, thief, and hypocrite.
