anyone else--that is a fundamental facet of our nation's democracy. Nevertheless, to place them in a class with other minorities like blacks, the disabled, or illegitimate children would be to sanction their behavior-- a behavior that appears to be as much learned as inherited. Until that debate is settled, I believe it is not necessary to protect homosexuals by quota preferences or protected status, and in my opinion, Amendment 2 is both legally and morally appropriate.
