The freedom to express is essential to the democratic way of life. Today, that freedom is under attack. Both private groups and public authorities everywhere are working to remove various forms of media; newspapers, films, music, and books from public reach, thus silencing these forms of expression. censorship definitely is justifiable.
When society has reached a level when it is enlightened enough not to be affected by the media, then perhaps all forms of censorship will become unnecessary. However, I doubt that time will come as people, being human, are naturally petty and biased. Until then, though, it is a protection measure, just like protection measures against crime, to look after the welfare of a country, with special reference to young minds.
