So, the two novels were somewhat hypocritical.
<Tab/>In conclusion, I don't know how to write a conclusion. JD Salinger wrote his novel The Catcher in the Rye on the premise that teens really are complex people with complex issues, and really do need all the help and guidance we can give. Holden, in trying to become "unique", actually comes quite close to just being another "phony" that he so detests.
