He spent the rest of his days revising and releasing new versions of the Leaves of Grass, and preparing the final volume of his poetry, Good-Bye My Fancy (1891). Walt Whitman died on March 26, 1892. He was buried in a tomb he had designed and built in Harleigh Cemetery in Camden County, New Jersey.
