With his "Meditations on First Philosophy" Rene Descartes has essentially written the method for skepticism. With his system of universal doubt Descartes dismissed all of his beliefs and accepted only those beliefs, which could be indisputably proven. Constructing sound and indisputable arguments from fact is the only way any philosopher should practice logic. The end to which he should strive is a philosophical system grounded in fact that cannot be successfully rebutted. In essence, the true philosopher should strive towards the ultimate system that unifies all who are capable of opening their minds to the truth and bringing in a new age of reason.
