An essential part in developing a child's character is through the manner in which he is raised. Through my observations and studies in my human, growth, and development course, I have learned of three significant modes of parenting: authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive. Simple personality traits- social skills, self-confidence, or self-centeredness- are associated with someone's upbringing, but, of course, other factors can contribute to someone's overall personality traits. After being well-informed of these parental styles, I personally will be more conscientious when raising children of my own.
