This movie was set in Quebec in 1634. Its main focus is the story of how the Jesuit priests
try to civilize the untamed Indians and turn them to Christianity. The story starts off with Father
LaForgue, along with his companion Daniel, making thier way across the treacherous mountains
to reach the Huron mission. They have many hardships along the way, rough terrain, freezing
weather. but those are minimal

Iriquois because they accepted Christianity and stopped fighting thier enemies.
I believe that the movie was pretty accurate according to history. One part of the movie
that was accurate was when they were captured by the Iriquois and are made to run the gauntlet
of the warriors. This was an actual custom by some tribes when they captured enemies. Clothing,
tools, and other materials they used were also accurate for the time setting.
