Northern Ireland separated from them. For them this was only a part time measure they wanted something else to be done to make this a permanent effect. Even though this was taking Northern Ireland away from them the still thought this was a good idea because they didn't want to be living in the same country as the Protestants. Still to this day the Catholics are still asking to be united Ireland one individual country.
