Timeline (summery): The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation took over the CRBC facilities and was created as a Crown Corporation on November 2, 1938, by an Act of Parliament following a Royal Commission that was concerned about the growing American influence in radio. In 1941, the CBC assisted in starting a News Service. There were over 80 stations worldwide that were involved in the project.
