The opening battle of "Saving Private Ryan," is very accurate. Many historians believe that the opening scene is the closest anyone can get to actual World War 2 combat. For those who fought on the beach of Normandy, this film comes closer than any other to what those men went through in 1944. The daring raid consisted of hospital workers giving the American military a key so they could rescue Lynch.
