The number of soldiers that died during the course of World War 1 was staggering. Although these numbers are astounding in themselves, the numbers of civilians affected by the events of World War 1 are even more saddening. They didn't care about the civilians, instead, they didn't want to starve, so they took all the resources they could and left the civilians die painfully. In conclusion, the three factors which affected the lives of the civilian population during WWI are; Cholera, Typhus, and Starvation. Cholera was caused by dirty food or water (bacteria), typhus was caused by rat fleas, while starvation was caused by the enemies taking away their resources.
