What the ladies do essentially amounts to obstruction of justice. They attempt to conceal evidence to prevent Mrs. Wright's possible conviction because they feel that she would not receive a just trial and that Mrs. Wrights husband got what he deserved. They did this I think because of the constant degrading remarks by the men towards them and women in general. In the end she was tried by a jury of her peers, the women.
