From this narrative, I learned that the eighteenth century was a horrible time period for slaves; the whole idea of the slave trade is a distasteful idea in itself. Whites owned and traded slaves as if they were some merchandise or pieces of property. And no matter where slaves ended up, they were always being treated worse than animals and societies did nothing to prevent it.
