For that reason alone the legal history of Northern Ireland is long and complex." Law formed a very important factor both in public and private life in ancient Ireland. Early Irish society was hierarchical in character. It was governed by the Brehon law, however it was somewhat disturbed in 1169 by the Anglo-Norman invasions.

professionalism, accountability and fairness at its core. Due to our growing litigious society, making the environment and language used would make the court system, in my view, more accessible. In Northern Ireland in particular, symbols are of the utmost importance, which is why I believe all symbols should be excluded from courtrooms, due to their emotive nature. I believe these changes will help many victims of crime gain access to the courts system.
