The movie even managed to work in Spelling's only acting ability, that starry eyed gaze of a squirrel caught on the highway, and Freddie Prinze Jr.'s clueless and ignorant charm seamlessly into this warped tale of an American family. Those who think they would rather watch a shoot-out will be pleasantly surprised as they become insidiously drawn into this brutally funny story.
