The Personality of Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon
Sam Spade in the 1940's detective movie The Maltese Falcon is an interesting and dynamic character. He is the main character in the movie, a detective searching for a statue of a black bird known as the Maltese Falcon. At the beginning of the movie, Sam seems to be a nice guy. Mr. Gutman. Even though the plot to locate the actual Maltese Falcon itself fails, Sam manages to end up on top, by procuring nearly eight hundred dollars from his assorted clients.
As you can see, I think that Sam Spade is an untrustworthy character, who uses people and manipulates them to achieve his personal ends. Even though Sam may come off as a jerk, he is still a brilliantly concocted character in The Maltese Falcon.
