Although Plato did bring up a good argument in The Republic, he did not back it up with enough facts or thought. Maybe he did not have enough information on past wars to base his opinions. To say that war is caused by only one thing is ridiculous. I believe all of these reasons are fluid and do not occur separately, but can occur simultaneously.
