The relationship between drugs and crime is amazing. More likely than not if a criminal act is committed drugs are in some way or another involved. Drug addicts, at some time in their lives, often find themselves incarcerated. Our prisons are overcrowded with inmates because of this major drug problem. As a result of this, many programs have been implemented by different governing agencies to try to reduce the number of these inmates who

at the issue as a functional problem of the judicial structure, we hope to show, through the study of empirical data that has been gathered through independent research, whether there is any correlation in the rate of recidivism of drug offenders and drug treatment programs such as drug court and boot camp. As a comparison, the paper will also take a summary look at other programs offered in lieu of incarceration in specific judicial districts.
