William Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth, Cumberland in the Lake District. His father was John Wordsworth who served as the attorney for Lord Lonsdale. His father was also the steward of the Lonsdale estate. When William was eight years old, his mother died and five years later his father died suddenly. My favorite poem by him is We Are Seven which explores the relationship between the child and death. The poem reveals how the innocense of the child seems to almost conquer death. This is a poem, that if you get time, I recommend reading. His poems are so interesting that they keep me coming back for more. And to think that I thought that all Poetry was boring, Wordsworth definitely changed my perspective on poetry.
