The publics view of U.S. healthcare system
When comparing the publics view of the healthcare system from the years of 2000 to 2002 there has been a drastic change in how society see the healthcare system in regards to managed care.
According to the Harris Poll those who accept the style to managed care is a bad thing have declined from 52% to 44% between 2000 and 2003. While those who believe it is a good thing have remained at 36%.

With managed care plans, Medicare fee schedules for physicians, and selective contracting (p. 122 Williams, Torrens) it has helped shape and establish and reduce costs to the public therefore giving them a positive outlook toward the future.
