it was easy to relate to Confessional poetry had the ability to attract a wide variety of readers. WD was certainly one of the great Confessional poets. Although he was tutored by the likes of Robert Lowell and Randall Jarrett, when his poetry finally began to take form, it was they who were influenced by his writing. W.D. Snodgrass now spends his time evenly between upstate New York and Mexico as a professional writer.
