The Right to Die On April 13, 1999 retired pathologist Dr. Jack Kevorkian was sentenced in Michigan to two terms of imprisonment for helping Thomas Youk end his life. A person should have the choice of how to die, when to die, and where to die. Sometimes people need to just give the court system a rest and do what is in the best interest of a particular individual, and if that interest is dying with dignity, then let it be granted.
