The major-airlines must lower their ticket prices, but must also maintain their quality of service. Their cost of production is obviously higher than that of low-cost airlines. A lot is also varies o whether or not consumers mind paying a more than pricey fare for excellent service, or would they rather pay low-cost for decent-to-low quality of service.
