Have you ever wondered how many mothers today that do not longer have the 'mother figures' or do not do their duties as real mothers? I bet, you wouldn't guess it right or not even close. In 'The Rocking Horse Winner', D.H. Lawrence created a character of a mother who was cold, abhorrent, negligent, and heartless. happiness where basically, joy in their heart just can be naturally achieved by having a healthy, warm, understanding, mother and children relationship. And to get into this point, they are sometimes required to suppress their own egos and indulge their kids with love. Finally, I will say that personally, I find myself strongly against these types of selfish mothers and, I am really hoping to be a good mother for my children in the future.
